The Ultimate Irony

The Ultimate Irony

On July 16, 2016, the mainstream media changed. It happened immediately after Trump closed the RNC with a standard political speech. Instantly, Trump went from harmless political anomaly to gargantuan threat to democracy. It was so shocking, I joined the Twitter. As screaming at my television neither diminished my frustration nor the media’s absurdity. To be honest, my joining twitter hasn’t helped either. Over the next few months, it became very apparent that Trump would win. This was based on press coverage and one overwhelming belief:

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE NOT AS STUPID AS THE MEDIA NEEDS THEM TO BE.

(I have that exact same feeling about the midterms, for the exact same reasons)

THE ULTIMATE IRONY

IT IS THE PRESS’S LIES, INTENDED TO FIRST PREVENT AND NOW REMOVE TRUMP THAT WILL KEEP TRUMP IN OFFICE. THE VERY BODY WILLING TO SELL ITS “SOUL” WILL ENSURE THE ONE THING IT’S KILLING ITSELF TO STOP.

For whatever reason(s), right or wrong, the press views Donald Trump as a serious threat. It has proven itself capable of the ultimate sin of journalism, especially in a democracy, lying with intent to mislead the public. There are countless examples. EVERYWHERE. Just open your eyes.

If we give the press the benefit of the doubt, the lies are intended to serve the greater good.

If we don’t, then the lies are meant to serve some unknown agenda.

If the latter, then the press has betrayed us in every way, and it truly is the enemy of the American people, not just the fake news it peddles.

If the former, then we can all take a deep breath. For though the violation is beyond serious, the press had our best interests at heart. Regardless, we are the worse for it. It is the will of the people that shall determine America’s path, not some equally ignorant, allegedly elite subset of establishment puppets.
